Faridabad. National Power Training Institute (NPTI) Corporate Office Sector - 33 Faridabad Ministry of Power, Government of India organized a two-day workshop on "Cyber Incident Response" for Power Sector . Chief Guest in this important workshop was Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) R.P. Pradhan from the Ministry of Power, Dr. Tripta Thakur, Director General, NPTI participated online. The objective of this workshop is to promote strong bilateral relations between the British High Commission United Kingdom & India, to grow together with mutual development and cooperation in various fields including education, technology and security.
Dr. Tripta Thakur, Director General, NPTI who joined the workshop online, said that in this workshop Ernst & Young LLP is integrating various domain experts from India and UK to share their views on various aspects regarding IT/OT security. Through the workshop, NPTI and the British High Commission will work together to enhance cyber security. Together, we aim to provide a platform for knowledge exchange, skill development and strategic dialogue to address the critical issue of cyber threats and incidents. As we gather here today, we are united by a common goal – to build a secure cyberspace together.
The Chief Guest at this important workshop was R.P. Pradhan, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) from the Ministry of Power Along with him, many dignitaries including Anand Krishnan Advisor Cyber Program India, Dr. Manju Mam, Principal Director, NPTI, Rick Hemsley, Partner, Technology Consulting, EY UK, Manoj Kumar Gupta, Director, Consulting Services, EY India, Dr. NK Srivastava, Director Project, NPTI and more than 30 CISO of Power Sector utilities has joined this program.

Workshop organized between NPTI and Germany's GIZ in Delhi 
Staff and students will do research on energy transformation - Dr. Tripta Thakur 
Faridabad. A collaborative workshop was organized between the National Power Training Institute (NPTI) of the Ministry of Power, Government of India and the German company Deutsche Gesellschaft Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to establish a Centre of Excellence for Energy Transformation (COE) in Faridabad. This workshop was organized at Nehru Place in Delhi. Dozens of stakeholders associated with the power sector were consulted regarding the Centre of Excellence for Energy Transformation (COE) to be built in Faridabad. NPTI Director General Dr. Tripta Thakur said during the workshop that in collaboration with GIZ, Center of Excellence COE will soon be established in NPTI Corporate Office Sector - 33 Faridabad. Which will prove to be useful for those employees and students associated with the energy sector who want to do research on the continuous change in energy, and want to understand the change in energy. Be it future smart meters, SCADA technology or simulators. 
As you know, for hundreds of years the whole world has been dependent on fossil fuels like coal, petrol and diesel. Due to which the temperature is continuously increasing and the climate is changing. In such a situation, if the sources of energy are not changed soon, the climate will change completely. We will have to adopt solar energy, biomass and geothermal energy by promoting it soon. India has also expressed its commitment to add 500 gigawatts of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. India ranks third in the world in terms of electricity generation (440 GW) and the transmission system is also better than many countries. However, our distribution system needs improvement and for this reason the Ministry is providing financial assistance through the RDSS scheme. 
Kuldeep Sharma, Head, Energy Transformation with Discoms, GIZ, launched the project IGEN - Energy Transformation with Discoms. The workshop was attended by A.K. Rajput was a member from CEA, Shri A.K. Tripathi, Advisor from MNRE, Shri Yogesh Kumar, Commercial from MVNNL, Sachin Talewar, Director (Technical), Harish Saran, Executive Director, PTC, Surjeet Banerjee, ED- Grid India, Abhay Kumar, Head (Engineering), PGCIL, Prof. Abhijeet R Abhiyankar, IIT Delhi, Prof. Ankush Sharma, IIT Kanpur, Vijay Menghani, Chief Engineer, CEA and senior officials from DERC, IEX, E&Y, TILA, Foundation, Gujarat Power Research and Development Cell, PGVCL, Artech Solonics Limited attended the Stakeholder Advisory Board meeting for Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Energy Transition.

Hundreds of officers, employees and trainee participants took part in the yoga session
Faridabad. A yoga session was organized on the occasion of 10th International Yoga Day at National Power Training Institute (NPTI) Corporate Office, Sector - 33, Faridabad, Ministry of Power, Government of India. In this yoga session, hundreds of officers, staff members, students and trainee participants took part in yogic activities following the general yoga protocol issued by the Ministry of AYUSH. The yoga session was organized at the NPTI campus under the guidance of Director General Dr. Tripta Thakur. All employees including senior officers of NPTI participated in the yoga program. Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition to the world.

Faridabad. Swachhata Pakhwada was launched at Sector 33 Faridabad, Corporate Office, National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Ministry of Power, Government of India. Swachhata Pakhwada will be run from 16 to 31 May 2024. During this, NPTI Director General Dr. Tripta Thakur administered the oath to all the officers, employees and students of the office to maintain cleanliness and keep the environment around them clean. NPTI Director General Dr. Tripta Thakur said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had lit a lamp for cleanliness on Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, which is still burning continuously and will continue to burn in the future. Today the light of that lamp has spread so much that people across the country have started paying attention to cleanliness, they not only keep themselves clean, but if someone else makes a mess, they also stop him and teach him a lesson in cleanliness. He said that it is not possible to imagine a developed India without cleanliness. Dr Thakur said that cleanliness drives are also conducted from time to time in NPTI, as a result of which today the NPTI campus is completely clean. While administering oath to the officers, employees and students, he said that they will neither spread dirt nor allow it to spread. He will also administer oath to 100 people. During this, along with NPTI Director General Dr Tripta Thakur, Dr Manju Mam Principal Director, Dr NK Srivastava Project Director, DS Sahu Simulator Director, Mrs Madhubala Kumar Admin Director, NR Haldar Training Director, all Deputy Directors, Co-Director staff members were also present.

Faridabad. The three-day sports seminar being held at National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Corporate Office Sector-33, Faridabad, Ministry of Power, Government of India, concluded with Run for NPTI. In which NPTI officials, employees and students as well as trainees also ran. Outdoor and indoor games like Kabaddi, Cricket, Badminton, Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess were played in the sports seminar. In the closing session, NPTI Director General Dr. Tripta Thakur, Principal Director Manju Mam, Project Director and Sports Incharge Dr. NK Srivastava, Director Simulator DS Sahu, Deputy Director Dr. Mahendra Singh honored all the winning participants by giving them trophies along with certificates. Let us tell you that about 200 players participated in the three-day sports seminar which started on 27 April. These players included NPTI officials, employees and students as well as trainees of NTPC, SJVN, UPRVUNL and UPRVUNL Energy. The Man of the Tournament in the three-day sports seminar was Mohammad Umar Uddin. He secured first place in chess and carrom, second place in table tennis and kabaddi and third place in badminton. Alka Yadav won in table tennis women's singles, while Adiba Wasi and Alka Yadav secured first place in table tennis women's doubles. Yashvardhan Nagar won in table tennis men's singles, while Yashvardhan Nagar and Sai Tarun Nagarajan emerged victorious in table tennis men's doubles. Cricket matches were also played between 6 teams in this sports seminar, in which NTPC Farakka won by defeating Power Pirates during the final. Kabaddi was played for the first time in NPTI sports seminar in which 4 teams MBA Spartan, Power Pirate, Team Lara and Lara Super King clashed. Lara Super King won the title by defeating Power Pirate in the final. 4 teams participated in volleyball, Smesser UPRVUNL reached the final and there was a fierce competition between Smesser UPRVUNL and Power Pirates in which Smesser UPRVUNL won by defeating Power Pirates. During the closing session, NPTI Director General Dr. Tripta Thakur said that in the three-day sports seminar, all the players played the games with the spirit of sportsmanship and in future also sports festivals will be organized on a large scale. For which soon a demand for a sports complex will be placed in the NPTI campus so that indoor games can be organized with full facilities. Dr. Tripta Thakur congratulated all the winning players.

A three-day sports seminar was organized at the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Corporate Office, Sector-33, Faridabad, Ministry of Power, Government of India, which was inaugurated by Dr. Tripta Thakur, Director General, NPTI, with the grand opening ceremony Power Zumba. Both outdoor and indoor games like Kabaddi, Cricket, Badminton, Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess will be played in the three-day sports seminar running from 27 to 29 April. The sports seminar will conclude with the Run for NPTI Marathon on Monday, 29 April. Let us tell you that for the first time a large-scale sports seminar is being organized at NPTI, in which about 200 players are participating. These players include officers, employees and students of NPTI as well as trainees of NTPC, SJVN, UPRVUNL and UPRV Energy. The first match of the three-day sports seminar was of Kabaddi. On the first day, four teams MBA Spartans, Power Pirates, Team Lara and Lara Super King competed. While singles and doubles matches of badminton and table tennis were held between men and women. In the inaugural address of the sports seminar, NPTI Director General Dr. Tripta Thakur explained the importance of sports and encouraged the players to play the game in the spirit of sports. She said that being an institute working in the power sector, electrical professionals, engineers and officers from various organizations are coming here for training. This type of sports seminar creates goodwill towards each other. It also gives us a chance to know each other. Dr. Tripta Thakur said that the results of all the games organized in the sports seminar will be announced on Monday.

Faridabad. The inaugural ceremony of the 20th batch of three-week Foundation Training Program was organized at the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Corporate Office, Sector-33, Ministry of Power, Government of India, in which Ajay Tiwari, IAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India, attended as the chief guest and started the program by lighting a lamp in front of Maa Saraswati. NPTI Director General Dr. Tripta Thakur and Principal Director Manju Mam were also present with him. During the program, Dr. Tripta Thakur welcomed Additional Secretary IAS Ajay Tiwari by presenting a plant. Addressing the new power sector employees who came for training, Additional Secretary IAS Ajay Tiwari said that we are going to become the third largest economy very soon. Not only this, you will also be happy to know that we are already ranked third in the world in the field of electricity. Be it renewable energy or the largest grid we have got in the world today, power generation in gigawatts, we are number one in the whole world in grids. No other country has such a large integrated one nation, one grid and one frequency. He said that this is the right time to join the power sector, you are very lucky. We are all moving forward with the vision of our Prime Minister. Our Prime Minister says that India will be a developed India by 2047. He said that when I joined the power sector 30 years ago, I had not even imagined a developed India. During this, NPTI Director General Dr. Tripta Thakur said that Power, New and Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh had said that the Foundation Program is very important for all new employees joining the power sector. This is the 20th batch of this course. We have now made changes in our curriculum so that we want to cover generation, transmission, distribution, regulation, management aspects, financial aspects, project management and we want to cover it. He said that we are number three in the world and our most ambitious target is to add 500 gigawatts of renewable capacity by 2030. For this, we will have to do more in the coming 6-7 years than what has been done in the country in the last 60-70 years. At the conclusion of the inaugural ceremony of the three-week long Foundation Training Program, Principal Director Manju Mom expressed her gratitude to all the guests and staff present in the auditorium. During this program, the coordinator of the Foundation Training Program - Director Training NR Haldar and his team Dr. Mahendra Singh, Deputy Director, Rahul Pandey, Assistant Director, Anurag Rai, Assistant Director along with senior faculty members Director Project Dr. NK Srivastava, Dr. Vatsala Sharma, Deputy Director etc. were present.

Under the National Mission Biomass (Samartha), a one-day awareness cum capacity building program was organized for farmers and pellet manufacturers at Hotel Grand Nirwana, Bareilly in collaboration with National Power Training Institute, Delhi, Ministry of Power, Government of India. Farmers, pellet manufacturers, representatives of banking sector, small farmer groups etc. from Uttar Pradesh participated in this workshop. NPTI Director General Dr. Tripta Thakur was present as the chief guest in the program. Apart from this, as special guests, NPTEI Principal Director Dr. Manju Mam, Mission Director of Samarth Mission and ED of NTPC Mr. Satish Upadhyay, Coordinator of KVK Bareilly Dr. HR Meena, Institute Incharge of Delhi Dr. Indu Maheshwari, Member (Thermal) Mr. Praveen Gupta and Director of NPTI, New Delhi Ms. Madhubala Kumar shared the outline of this one-day program with all the participants. Speakers at the event included Prabhjot Singh Sahi (Member & Deputy Director, CEA) and Zubin Anand, Executive (Biomass & NTPC) who took special sessions on the objectives of the Mission, use of biomass in power generation and existing thermal powerplants. They also covered topics such as technical aspects and characteristics of biomass and pellets, specifications and firing at TPP. Shri Sunil Dhingra, Director Bio Trend Energy, New Delhi explained the basic technical and economic aspects of small scale pellet production, manufacturing, biomass harvesting. Shri Manmohan, Assistant General Manager (Retd.) Bank of Baroda explained the financial assistance schemes of the Government and how these schemes can be availed by farmers/FPOs/budding entrepreneurs. Dr. RL Sagar and Dr. Rakesh Pandey, CRM, KVK, Bareilly gave detailed information on how the agriculture schemes are beneficial for farmers/FPOs and entrepreneurs Sharma, Deputy Director and Shri Anurag Rai, Assistant Director, NPTI.
The aim of Samarth Mission sponsored by the Government of India is to free the environment from pollution caused by stubble burning and also to generate income by farmers by not burning stubble in the fields and selling it. Ministry of Power, Government of India organized Power Human Resource Summit for Human Resource of PSUs and Private Companies in Indian Power Sector at National Power Training Institute (NPTI) Corporate Office, Faridabad Sector-33. The summit was attended by Chief Guest Rakesh Goyal, Chief Engineer, Human Resource Development, CEA, Keynote Speaker Major General Rajesh Kumar Jha, AVSM (Retd), Director (Personnel), NEEPCO, Dr. Tripta Thakur, Director General, NPTI, Dr. Manju Mom, Principal Director, NPTI and NR Halder, Director Training, NPTI. The summit was aimed at promoting mutual collaboration, sharing insights and exploring innovative strategies to navigate the emerging energy landscape. The Power Human Resource Summit was attended by top HR officials from various organizations associated with power sector such as NHPC, REC, DVC, CEA, MPPGCL, Delhi Transco, BSES, THDC, PSTCL, BBMB etc. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between NPTI and NEEPCO during the Summit in the distinguished presence of Director General, NPTI. The MoU was signed by Dr. Tripta Thakur, Director General, NPTI and Major General Rajesh Kumar Jha, Director (Personnel), NEEPCO. This MoU is for jointly imparting training to NEEPCO employees in India in hydro, thermal, renewable energy and other areas of mutual interest. In this, NPTI and NEEPCO will share strengths, experience, network, technical knowledge and resources (including human, material and others) to achieve their shared objectives. The highlight of the summit was the panel discussion on “Changing Energy Scenario” moderated by Dr. Indu Maheshwari, Director and Institute Head, NPTI-Badarpur New Delhi. The panel comprised of R.P. Sharma, ED (EMS), NHPC, Digant Bohra, DGM (HR), NEEPCO, Abhishek Ranjan, Partner, E&Y and Punit Jain, AVP (HR), BRPL, BSES Rajdhani who engaged in an inspiring dialogue, exchanged views and discussed solutions to address the emerging challenges in the power sector.
Speaking at the Power Human Resources Summit, Dr. Tripta Thakur, Director General, NPTI said that such conferences provide a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing and networking among industry stakeholders. A two-day Capacity Building Programme on Implementation of Provisions of Energy Conservation Act for Northern Region by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) Delhi, Ministry of Power, Government of India in collaboration with National Power Training Institute (NPTI) Corporate Office Faridabad will be held on 21-22 March 2024 at Hotel Shivalikview, Sector-17, Chandigarh. Engineer Heera Lal Goyal, Chief Engineer/Enforcement & Energy Audit, PSPCL, Patiala will be present as the Chief Guest at the programme. There will be expert presentations, interactive sessions and a series of case studies. Let us tell you that the Capacity Building Programme for Implementation of Provisions of Energy Conservation Act in Lucknow will serve as a dynamic platform for stakeholders to discuss, learn and strategise about energy conservation and the region's transition towards sustainable energy sources. Focusing on the unique challenges and opportunities in North India, the programme aims to promote a comprehensive understanding of the Energy Conservation Act. Participants will explore innovative technologies, policy frameworks and community engagement models relevant to the energy conservation goals of the region.

Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) is a multi-disciplinary body established under the provisions of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001. Bureau of Energy Efficiency was established on 1st March, 2002 by merging the erstwhile Energy Management Centre. Being a society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 under the Ministry of Power, the mission of BEE is self-regulation within the overall framework of Energy Conservation Act (EC Act), 2001 with the primary objective of reducing the energy intensity of the Indian economy and developing policy and strategy with emphasis on market principles. This will be achieved by active participation of all stakeholders, resulting in accelerated and sustained adoption of energy efficiency across all sectors.
