The National Power Training Institute (NPTI) is the national apex body for training and human resources development in the power sector. It is an ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 institution under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, with its corporate office located in Faridabad. For more than 50 years, NPTI has been offering its committed service.

NPTI (WR), Nagpur was founded in 1975 and is completely furnished with the newest, most advanced infrastructure. It was initially set up to train engineers for thermal power stations, which were being rapidly developed in India at the time. Over the years, NPTI Nagpur has expanded its scope to offer training in all segments of the power sector, including generation, transmission, distribution and energy transition. It offers a variety of long- and short-term training programs as well as seminars and workshops in the fields of management, transmission and distribution of power and thermal power generation. The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has granted it Grade-A status and recognized it as a Category-I training institute for Thermal and T&D courses in accordance with Indian Electricity Rules.
