National Power Training Institute (NPTI) an ISO 9001and14001 certified organization under Ministry of Power, Government of India is a reputed institute for providing engineers/technicians an opportunity to be accomplished with the skills required in the Power Sector Industry in India by providing them specialization courses in various departments of Power generation.
Hydro Power Training Centre (HPTC), Nangal is a specialized Centre of NPTI, situated on a picturesque landscape of about 15 acres. The Campus houses the main Institute building, guest house, boys’ hostel, girl’s hostel, gymnasium & residential quarters for the employees. The main Institute building houses air-conditioned lecture halls, library, administrative office, 250 MW Hydro Simulator, auditorium with the facility of latest Audio/ Video system. HPTC, Nangal develops groomed manpower for the power sector having high skills and confidence in running a Hydro Power Plant. The trainees are provided on-job practice sessions in various Hydro power plants of BBMB/ PSPCL/ NTPC/ THDCL/SJVNL of different unit size.
The power sector is undergoing transformation through paradigm changes in Government policies, economic, environment and consumer awareness. Unlike the past, electricity generation, transmission and distribution are now considered as commercial activities. To sustain in this competitive market, organization will have to challenge the existing core beliefs, processes & methodologies and focus on hands-on training to inculcate the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes in the personnel.
To make our trainee more comfortable with latest technologies, the training infrastructure is also being upgraded. All out efforts are being made to ensure that the courses offered by NPTI stand out and meet the power sector needs. We have been modifying our training calendar to incorporate the program’s which are in great demand.
After completion of the courses the trainees would be readily available for the Indian Power Sector for taking over the charge of Operation & Maintenance of Power Plant equipments.
