About Us
National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Northern Region, New Delhi, under Ministry of Power, Government of India was established in the year 1974. NPTI (NR) is one of the 11 institutes of NPTI across the country, located at BTPS Complex, Badarpur, Mathura Road, New Delhi and has its corporate office at Faridabad. The organization specialises in Training and Human Resources Development in the Power Sector.
NPTI (NR) offers various long-term and short-term courses in various disciplines such as Transmission and Distribution, Thermal, Hydro, Regulatory Affairs, etc. It conducts numerous customized training programs, workshops and seminars throughout the year, owing to the latest developments in the Sector. It also trains the students in Power Sector through various PGDC & PDC programs and acts as premier organisation for initiating and coordinating training programmes in the power sector of the country. The institute has been dedicating its service for the last five decades.

NPTI, New Delhi Placements
National Power Training Institute has a dedicated placement cell that provides a platform to the aspiring students seeking recruitments and jobs. The placement cell prepares the recruitment schedule for the year, invites the top firms and carries out the process of recruitment to the end as its responsibility. The department also conducts various mock interviews and group discussions in order to train the students. It also offers various internship programs and training to facilitate students. NPTI, New Delhi Facilities
National Power Training Institute provides student friendly infrastructure and facilities to cater the needs of the students. The facilities offered by NPTI, Delhi are as follows: -
Hostel facilities: The hostel premises are located inside high security NTPC Badarpur complex. Fully- furnished rooms with attached washrooms and AC facilities are provided. The hostel also facilitates the trainees with Wi-Fi system, television. Also, there are facilities for indoor and outdoor games like Table tennis, Cricket, Badminton, Volleyball and indoor games etc.
Classrooms: Well-equipped Class rooms with LCD projection system for imparting formal, theoretical and technical knowledge.
Library: The institute has a library and has a huge collection of over 15,000 books and also various presentations on computers, Electric Power and Management, etc. It has over 15 journals and holds the capacity to accommodate 70 students. The library also provides students with a collection of construction, operation and maintenance manuals of BHEL, NTPC and other power sectors which are highly beneficial for the students.
Models: NPTI, Delhi provides students with various simulated models such as Fuel Oil System, Secondary Steam System, Boiler Combustion Control, Steam Turbines, Electric Generator, Direct Heater System, Accumulator System, etc.
Auditorium: The institute has a fully-equipped and air-conditioned auditorium with a capacity of 150 students.
Thermal power plant simulator: The simulator trains to process start-up, optimize the control system and verify process design and study the effects of modifications by altering the model.
